Co-Parenting Mediation Program
In order to provide a speedy response to parents with parent-time (visitation) disputes, the 1997 Utah State Legislature enacted the Expedited Parent-time (visitation) Enforcement Pilot Program, more commonly known as the Co-parenting mediation program.
Divorce Mediation
In 2005 the Utah State Legislature enacted a mandatory domestic mediation program to help reduce the time and tensions associated with obtaining a divorce. The law requires that divorcing parties involved in a contested divorce mediate their disputed issues using a court approved mediator before the case may proceed through the court system. This often times expedites the divorce process allowing the parties to resolve their disputed issues between themselves.
Juvenile Court Restorative Dialogue Programs
Using the restorative justice philosophy as a guide, the Utah Juvenile Court has developed several restorative justice dialogue programs.
